"The idea had been nagging at me, it wouldn’t leave me alone," the reason Steve the Roofer, decided to act and figure out how to bring an apparel brand to life without having any industry experience. Steve, like many of us, has been noticing the culture wars taking place in our society and was let down when certain protests were affecting the respect for the one thing where respect should never not be shown: our flag. When kneeling for the flag became a “trend” and major apparel brands were getting behind that divisive message, it felt disappointing. Sure, protesting and expressing our opinion and our voice is one of the most incredible rights that we have, but standing for our flag shows respect for those rights and, MOST importantly, shows appreciation for those who have and are willing to sacrifice their all for us to have the freedoms that we get to enjoy. Standing for the flag is not about making a statement; it’s about showing appreciation. Because of that, RiserUnited was born. You will notice that gratitude and unity are woven into everything that we do. Our brand’s mission is to unite in gratitude and, in gratitude, to Stand!
We have committed to transparency. You are part of this journey, just as much as we are, and we want to ensure that you feel that way. You will get a sneak peek of everything from our meetings to building our content, to seeing the behind-the-scenes of our design process and everything else that comes with building this brand and carefully crafting every collection with intention and passion. We have a true gift that Steve the Roofer gave us, that we don't take for granted, and that is being able to do things our way, the right way, unbeholden to anyone else.
