As a nation, it is no secret that we are not in a very good place right now.
Yet we all know in our heart of hearts that the great majority of Americans have the desire and the commitment to unite.
We allow small groups from the extremes to dominate the narrative and convince us that we have irreconcilable differences, that we no longer share a True North and a solid bedrock to collectively stand on.
Sadly, it takes a war or a terror attack to remind us that there is in fact a bedrock, that there is a True North for us.
It is, and always has been, the United States flag.
And with it, the rights, liberties, and freedoms it represents.
